Splash of Color Sale a Success
The first Annual Splash of Color Sale was held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Middle Tennessee State University Tennessee Livestock Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This was an all colored sale with red, black, paint and polka dot boer goats.
The consignors greeted numerous guests at the Friday evening viewing and Saturday morning prior to the sale. It was a beautiful spring day with around 60 registered buyers in attendance from Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. Another 36 buyers were registered with EDGE Technologies to bid on-line.
A total of 106 lots were sold for over $65,000. The Volume Buyer was EDGE on-line bidder, Connie Ott, of Kearneysville, West Virginia.
Davidson Livestock’s “DL First Impression” was the High Selling Doe. She was purchased by Ralph McGee of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. The High Selling Buck, “935 Rio Grande Codi Stetson” was consigned by Rio Grande Boer Goats and purchased by Arlin Wadel of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.
The sale was hosted by Hit-n-Miss Farm and Red Creek Farm. Guest consignors included Boer Goats Limited, Davidson Livestock, Dills’ Boer Farm, Dixieland Ranch, Far View Farms LLC, Freedom Farm, Painted Boers, Rebel Ridge Boer Goats, Rio Grande Boer Goats and 4R Boer Goats.

Prince came to us from south Texas near the Mexican border. He adapted well to his new home in the snowbelt of northeast Ohio. Prince has done very well for us in the show ring. He was named Junior Reserve Champion at the 2007 Ohio State Fair and Yearling Reserve Champion at the 2008 Michigan Spring Show. Red Bull is a young buck only a 3/08, but already we have been super impressed with the thickness of his kids from birth. He also gives them a butt! We have had red, black & dilute spots from this one. We also have a young black buck with a huge spot on his hip which will be offered for sale in April!
